Best-parameter search in asymmetric rotor models
The Davydov model is analysed by performing a least-squares fit to the experimental energy levels while varying the parameters simultaneously until an optimum adjustment is obtained. Special emphasis is put on the feasibility of the method proposed to explain the higher vibrational states. The best...

The Davydov model is analysed by performing a least-squares fit to the experimental energy levels while varying the parameters simultaneously until an optimum adjustment is obtained. Special emphasis is put on the feasibility of the method proposed to explain the higher vibrational states. The best paremeters and the predicted energy sequences are presented for some typical nuclei. The results show that energy levels of deformed nuclei can be reasonably well explained by the Davydov model. Comparison with other models is also made. The use of more realistic potentials in the phenomenological models is encouraged. © 1972 Società Italiana di Fisica. Fil:Hernandez, E.S. Universidad de Buenos Aires.
