Beta-adrenoceptor blocking agents abolished the different sensitivity towards the adrenergic agonists between both zones. The results suggest that in the M region there is a higher population of beta adrenoceptors or an augmented affinity of the agonist for them than in the LU. © 1981 The Italian Pharmacological Society.
