Ultraviolet-visible photodiode array spectrophotometer wavelength calibration method. A practical computer algorithm

A method is proposed for wavelength calibration of the reversed-optics polychromators of photodiode array spectrophotometers. The central wavelength of each diode is determined using classical line emission sources and an appropriate algorithm. The method can be used even when the light from the sli...

Sumario:A method is proposed for wavelength calibration of the reversed-optics polychromators of photodiode array spectrophotometers. The central wavelength of each diode is determined using classical line emission sources and an appropriate algorithm. The method can be used even when the light from the slit image formed on the detector falls on several diodes, whether due to a large slit to diode ratio, detector window effects or other causes.
