We observed on grid 1 a higher density due to a greater number of females, a higher total number of reproductive individuals and juveniles, an increase in the recruitment of adult and subadut females and a decrease of average distances travelled by both sexes. The duration of the breeding season was longer on food supplemented as well as the number of residents individuals. During the Winter 1990 density on grid 1 declined more markedly than that on grids 2 and 3. These results suggest that the food would be one of the factors limiting the population size of A. azarae. Previous research and the evidences observed in the present study suggest that both the predation and the spacing behaviour would be other factor operating in the population regulation of A. azarae.
