Our results emphasize the importance of vegetation cover in the generation of shelter sites, which S. tumidus would use for nesting and/or avoiding predation. Hence, both reproduction and residence of S. tumidus would be larger, maximizing population's fitness and, consequently, population's survival in the delta area.
