These rocks are represented by dacitic crystalline tuffs interpreted as distal pyroclastic flows. The scarcity of lithoclasts, their compositional variety, and the presence of amphibol and titanite as minor accesory phases are diagnostic features of these tuffs; included here in the Tambo Formation.
