Sub-alkaline rocks are peraluminous, high K and enriched in Rb and Th. less so in Nb and Ta and slightly enriched in light rare earths. They are geochemically similar to Los Ratones granite and probably genetically related to it. The alkaline rocks have geochemical characteristics typical of continental rift magmatism. They derived from different sources with a low degree of melting, and probably are contaminated with amphibolite facies rocks.
