description This research proposes to investigate some fundamental core of aesthetics, in the wake of contemporary French philosophy. From this point of view, we will attend, among other issues, to the problem of the representation and the unrepresentable; the links between production, contemplation and reflection on art; the relations between the historicity of the artistic fact and the concepts which structure it. For this, we will confront the work of the last two decades of French thinker Jacques Rancière with some other exponents of contemporary philosophy, under a double temporal horizon. On one hand, we will revisit some of his discussions with his contemporaries, such as Jean-François Lyotard or Gilles Deleuze. On the other hand, we will try to build the conceptual mediums to measure the work of French essayist with some German thinkers of the early twentieth century, as Heidegger and Benjamin, whose work are to be understood as a unique art and philosophical suture, and try to explore the epistemological potential of this conjunction.
