may vary from 23º to 26 C degrees during summer.
Moreover the city is located at Uruguay River’s coast, is near the Uruguayan city
Paysandú and has hot springs waters.
As a result of its natural resources and geographical location Colón is a place chosen by
many people to visit. Therefore the city was able to earn good profit out of tourism.
Hot springs waters are the main attraction the city has during the winter and are a good
choice during the whole year.
This hot springs not only offer swimming pools for relaxation but also has recreational facilities. Nowadays the later uses cold water, which allows their usage only a few months for year during summertime (November to March).
We analyzed the possibility of heating some of the recreational pools. To achieve our aim we had to analyze the heatloss of the system. From this research we were able to point out the different thermal requirements and the appropriate heating system. |
