description The study of attitudes toward a specific discipline –such as Mathematics– has gained increasing relevance in both educational settings and professional training. Accordingly, the present study aimed to analyze the psychometric properties –content validity and reliability– of the Mathematics Attitude Questionnaire (CAHM) among students of the Economics degree program at the Faculty of Economic Sciences (UNNE, Argentina). The instrument, developed ad hoc, consists of 16 items grouped into four dimensions: Affectivity, Applicability, Ability, and Stress, with responses rated on a five-point Likert scale. Content validity was evaluated through expert judgment by three specialists in Mathematics, Statistics, and Economics, applying Aiken’s V coefficient. Results showed values above 0.80 for both clarity and relevance, indicating a high level of agreement among experts. Reliability was estimated using Cronbach’s α, McDonald’s ω, and the corrected item–total correlation (ritc), based on a sample of 49 students from the 2024 academic year. Values of α and ω greater than 0.70 and ritc coefficients above 0.40 indicated adequate internal consistency across all dimensions. Overall, the findings confirm that the CAHM exhibits satisfactory psychometric properties for measuring attitudes toward Mathematics in the context of university-level economics education. The instrument is considered a useful tool for future research on the relationship between attitudes and academic performance in the field of economic sciences.

El estudio de las actitudes hacia una disciplina en particular –como podría ser la Matemática– ha cobrado creciente relevancia en el ámbito educativo y en la formación profesional. Motivo por el cual, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar las características psicométricas –validez de contenido y fiabilidad– del Cuestionario de Actitudes hacia la Matemática (CAHM), en estudiantes de la carrera de Economía de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas (UNNE, Argentina). El instrumento, elaborado ad hoc, consta de 16 ítems agrupados en cuatro dimensiones: Afectividad, Aplicabilidad, Habilidad y Estrés, con respuestas valoradas en una escala Likert de cinco puntos. La validez de contenido fue evaluada mediante el juicio de tres expertos en las áreas de Matemática, Estadística y Economía, aplicando el coeficiente V de Aiken. Los resultados mostraron valores superiores a 0.80 en los criterios de claridad y pertinencia, lo que evidencia un alto grado de acuerdo entre los jueces. La fiabilidad se estimó a partir de los coeficientes α de Cronbach, ω de McDonald y ritc para la correlación ítem-total corregida, sobre una muestra de 49 estudiantes en el curso académico 2024. Se obtuvieron valores de α y ω mayores a 0.70, y de ritc superiores a 0.40, indicando una consistencia interna adecuada en todas las dimensiones. En conjunto, los hallazgos confirman que el CAHM presenta propiedades psicométricas satisfactorias para medir las actitudes hacia la Matemática en el contexto de formación económica universitaria. Se considera que este instrumento constituye una herramienta útil para futuras investigaciones sobre la relación entre las actitudes y el rendimiento académico en ciencias económicas.
