The spread of soybean and sugarcane monocultures led to the loss of more than 94.000 hectares of native forest, affecting biodiversity, landscape structure, and local living conditions. Based on the multitemporal analysis of Landsat imagery, socioeconomic databases, and field observations, changes in land use and fragmentation of the Chaco Forest were assessed. The results reveal a sustained reduction in natural vegetation cover. The study integrates geographical, ecological, and territorial approaches to understand the dynamics that characterize eastern Tucumán. Entre 1990 y 2025, los departamentos del este de Tucumán experimentaron profundas transformaciones territoriales asociadas al avance de la frontera agropecuaria. La expansión del monocultivo de soja y caña de azúcar impulsó la pérdida de más de 94.000 hectáreas de bosque nativo, afectando la biodiversidad, la estructura del paisaje y las condiciones de vida locales. A partir del análisis multitemporal de imágenes Landsat, bases socioeconómicas y observaciones de campo, se evaluaron los cambios de uso del suelo y la fragmentación del bosque chaqueño. Los resultados evidencian una reducción sostenida de la cobertura natural. El estudio integra enfoques geográficos, ecológicos y territoriales para comprender la dinámica del este tucumano.
