This study delves into the significance of Murilo Rubião's (Minas Gerais, 1916-1991) short story 'Botão-de-Rosa' in the context of fantastic literature and political criticism. It aims to establish the fantastic elements of constructing a fractured possible world representation, delimited by the extra-textual reference of Brazil's military dictatorship (1964-1985). Moreover, this study contributes to disseminating and revisiting the work of Murilo Rubião, highlighting the role of fantastic short stories and literature in political resistance in Brazil.
