Methodologically, the theoretical premises of a worldwide referential architectural firm are discussed. The project strategies of the French firm Druot, Lacaton and Vassal, are constituted as units of analysis, and are categorical structures from which we can base the technological response or identify the question that promotes it. The analysis of the French team's positioning exposes the need to approach building rehabilitation as an adaptation of the habitat to daily living, to the detriment of a simple updating of components, materials and execution techniques. The potential of rehabilitation as a design practice that guides efficient technological decisions as opposed to other more radical options such as demolition is then considered. This paper proposes to approach the rehabilitation of state housing complexes from the theoretical, methodological and technical dimensions of the architectural project.
