Sumario:Since November 2023 The Houthis, a rebel group occupying the western region of Yemen, have been carrying out attacks on different commercial vessels sailing in the Red Sea, but especially on those in the vicinity of the Bab el-Mandeb strait, in retaliation for Israel’s invasion of the Gaza Strip. The aim of this article is to investigate the geopolitical and geostrategic importance of the Red Sea, while at the same time trying to determine the actors involved in this conflict and identify some of the consequences that this current situation generates in maritime trade. Methodologically, it corresponds to an exploratory and descriptive work, in which the consequences of this crisis on the Asia-Europe trade link, mainly in the energy and industrial sectors, can be seen
