The aim of this article is to investigate the geopolitical and geostrategic importance of the Red Sea, while at the same time trying to determine the actors involved in this conflict and identify some of the consequences that this current situation generates in maritime trade. Methodologically, it corresponds to an exploratory and descriptive work, in which the consequences of this crisis on the Asia-Europe trade link, mainly in the energy and industrial sectors, can be seen Desde el pasado mes de noviembre de 2023, los hutíes, grupo rebelde que ocupa la región occidental de Yemen, vienen perpetrando ataques a diferentes buques comerciales que navegan por el Mar Rojo, pero sobre todo a aquellos que lo hacen en cercanías del estrecho Bab el-Mandeb, como represalia a la invasión de Israel en la Franja de Gaza. El objetivo de este artículo es indagar sobre la importancia geopolítica y geoestratégica del Mar Rojo, al mismo tiempo que se pretenden determinar los actores que intervienen en este conflicto e identificar algunas de las consecuencias que esta actual coyuntura genera en el comercio marítimo. Metodológicamente se corresponde con un trabajo de carácter exploratorio y descriptivo, en el cual se pueden advertir las consecuencias de esta crisis en la vinculación comercial Asia-Europa, fundamentalmente en los sectores energético e industrial.
