In the first appointment, two groups were formed (Group B for the bamboo eco-friendly toothbrush and Group P for the plastic toothbrush), and they were instructed to perform toothbrushing using the Modified Bass Technique. Pre- and post-brushing dental biofilm were recorded using the Turesky-Gilmore-Glickman Plaque Index (TMQHPI). After one week of brushing, in the second appointment, the groups were crossed, repeating the same process. Both groups showed a significant reduction in dental biofilm after toothbrushing. The rate of reduction in dental biofilm across the entire mouth was higher in Group B (87.04 ± 2.64) compared to Group P (86.46 ± 2.46); however, no statistically significant difference was found between the groups. The bamboo eco-friendly toothbrush demonstrated similar efficacy to the plastic toothbrush in reducing dental biofilm.

Determinar la eficacia del cepillo dental ecológico de bambú en la eliminación del biofilm dental. Se realizó un ensayo cruzado, cegado por el examinador en una muestra de 20 estudiantes de odontología. Se les pidió suspender el cepillado durante 24 horas, en la primera cita se formaron 2 grupos (grupo B para el cepillo dental ecológico de bambú y grupo P para el cepillo dental de plástico), se les instruyó para el cepillado con la técnica de Bass Modificada, luego se registró el biofilm dental pre y post cepillado utilizando el Índice de placa Turesky-Gil-more-Glickman (TMQHPI), posterior a una semana de lavado, en la segunda cita se cruzaron los grupos repitiendo el mismo proceso. Ambos grupos redujeron significativamente el biofilm dental después del cepillado dental. La tasa de reducción del biofilm dental a nivel de toda la boca fue mayor en el grupo B (87,04 ± 2,64) respecto al grupo P (86,46 ± 2,46), sin embargo no se halló diferencia estadísticamente significativa entre los grupos. El cepillo dental ecológico de bambú demostró ser tan eficaz como el cepillo dental de plástico para la reducción de biofilm dental. Foi solicitado que parassem de escovar por 24 horas, na primeira consulta foram formados 2 grupos (grupo B para a escova de bambu ecológica e grupo P para a escova de plástico), foram orientados a escovar com a técnica de Bass. e o biofilme dental pós-escovação foi registrado pelo Turesky-Gilmore-Glickman Plaque Index (TMQHPI), após uma semana de lavagem, na segunda consulta os grupos foram cruzados repetindo o mesmo processo. Ambos os grupos reduziram significativamente o biofilme dental após a escovação. A taxa de redução do biofilme dental ao nível de toda a boca foi maior no grupo B (87,04 ± 2,64) em relação ao grupo P (86,46 ± 2,46) porém não foi encontrada diferença estatística significativa entre os grupos. A escova de dente ecológica de bambu mostrou-se tão eficaz quanto a escova de dente de plástico na redução do biofilme dental.
