El Dr. Izak Cornelius, profesor del Departamento del Antiguo Cercano Oriente (ACO) en la Universidad de Stellenbosch en Sudáfrica, escribió este interesante libro que viene a llenar un vacío de un catálogo actualizado con documentación visual para la iconografía de las diosas Anat, Aserá, Astarté y Qedeset del período de 1500 a 1000 a.C. Las divinidades de Siria-Palestina son conocidas desde la Biblia Hebrea, los textos de Ugarit, Egipto y desde inscripciones fenicias y grecorromanas. En este sentido, Cornelius se pregunta, ¿cuál fue la iconografía de cada diosa como parte de la “religión visible”?
