Both the operators and the companies that provide them with well services require housing for the workers who have to reside in the vicinity of the wells. This paper examines the engineering aspects for the assembly line production method of said houses. The aspects of product design, the production process, the necessary equipment, the location of the production facilities and the requirements of both raw material and direct labor are analyzed. The aforementioned engineering study is framed within a market assessment. This analysis examines the macroeconomic situation, the geographical distribution of resources and the needs of potential buyers. The study concludes that with a primary production line containing two teams for both electrical installations and sanitary facilities, it is possible to produce a housing-container every 5 hours with an average utilization of the production facilities of 78%." "Debido al favorable panorama macro-económico de Argentina y a su gran riqueza de recursos naturales, se espera en el mediano plazo un fuerte crecimiento en la actividad hidrocarburífera del país, particularmente en los eslabones de exploración y producción de petróleo y gas. Tanto las operadoras petroleras como las empresas que les brindan servicios de pozo requieren de viviendas para los operarios que tienen que residir en las inmediaciones de los pozos. Este trabajo desarrolla un estudio de ingeniería para el método de producción en línea de dichas viviendas. Se analizan los aspectos de diseño de producto, el proceso productivo, los equipos necesarios, la localización de las instalaciones productivas y los requerimientos tanto de materia prima como de mano de obra directa. El estudio de ingeniería mencionado, se enmarca dentro de un análisis de mercado. En ese análisis se examina la situación macroeconómica, la distribución geográfica de recursos y las necesidades de los potenciales compradores. El estudio concluye que con una línea de producción primaria que contenga dos equipos tanto para instalaciones eléctricas como para instalaciones sanitarias, es posible producir una vivienda-conteiner cada 5 horas con una utilización promedio de las instalaciones productivas de 78%."
