The aim of this paper is to analyze, from an anthropological and historical perspective, the responses implemented by the community in the dispute with different actors (state, private, etc.). To this end, we use a series of unpublished documents from the Historic Archive of Tucumán, that refer to the conflict around the lands of Calchaqui valley. In general, we seek to characterize not only the socio-economic and ethnic dynamics experienced by the different indigenous peoples of the NOA during the 19 th century and to provide new data to the discussions focused on national and provincial state formations. We also intend to understand the phenomenon of ethnic de-characterization on which the nation was built, thus framing the current ethnic re-emergence that has recently taken place in our country. |

Desde o fim do período colonial e durante todo o século XIX, os indígenas da comunidade de Amaicha del Valle levaram várias ações judiciais e estratégias para defender as suas terras comunais. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar -a partir de uma perspectiva antropológica e histórica- as várias respostas implementadas pela comunidade na disputa com os diferentes agentes (estado, privados, etc.). Para esse fim, usamos uma série de documentos inéditos do Archivo Histórico de Tucumán que se relacionem com o conflito relatado em referencia as terras do Vale Calchaquí. Como propósito geral, pretendemos contribuir para a caracterização de não só as dinâmicas socioeconômicas e étnicas pelas quais atravessaram os diferentes povos indígenas do NOA (Noroeste Argentino) no século XIX, fornecendo novos dados para os debates sobre a formação do estado nacional e os estados provinciais, mas também para a compreensão do fenômeno de descaracterização étnica em que a nação foi construída, enquadrando assim os atuais processos de emergência étnica no nosso país que vem a tona nos últimos anos. Desde fines del período colonial y durante todo el siglo XIX, los indígenas de la comunidad de Amaicha del Valle encabezaron diferentes pleitos y desplegaron distintas estrategias para defender sus tierras comunales. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar —desde una perspectiva antropológica e histórica— las diversas respuestas implementadas por dicha comunidad en la disputa con diferentes agentes (estatales, privados, etc.). A tal fin, utilizaremos una serie de documentos inéditos del Archivo Histórico de Tucumán que refieren al conflicto ya señalado por las tierras del valle Calchaquí. Como propósito general, pretendemos contribuir a la caracterización no sólo de las dinámicas socio-económicas y étnicas por las que atravesaron las distintas poblaciones indígenas del NOA durante el siglo XIX, aportando nuevos datos a los debates centrados en la conformación del estado nacional y los estados provinciales, sino también a la comprensión del fenómeno de descaracterización étnica sobre el que se construyó la nación, enmarcando así los actuales procesos de emergencia étnica que han aflorado en nuestro país en los últimos años.
