description In this work, we present the analysis of the complete mitochondrial sequence of a biological sample belonging to Blas Jaime, recognized as Chaná, speaker of the Chaná language, and native of the southern-central region of the province of Entre Ríos. The information is presented within the genealogical and geographical context of Jaime and in the framework of the genetic background available for the region. The objective of this study is to contribute to the understanding, from a multidisciplinary perspective, of the contexts of the Chaná language based on the information obtained from genealogical reconstruction and the sequencing of the Blas Jaime’s mitochondrial genome. The results suggest the existence of a phylogenetic link and early differentiation with Kayapó indigenous peoples from the central region of Brazil and with inhabitants of eastern Paraguay.
