It is argued that the community is a figure that was recently constituted, within the framework of interpellation/identification devices linked to historical processes that articulate diverse social experiences. As such, it takes shape in a specific context, linked to the democratic restoration of 1983 and crystallizes as a political-legal form of inter-ethnic relations in the period that opens at that time Se analiza el significante comunidad en torno a cuatro dimensiones centrales: como concepto de teoría social, como noción jurídica, como institución política y como forma de identificación. Para ello se recurre a trabajos etnográficos propios y de terceros realizados en Chubut y Río Negro, en la Patagonia argentina, en la actualidad. Se sostiene que la comunidad es una figura que se constituye recientemente, en el marco de dispositivos de interpelación/identificación vinculados a la articulación de experiencias históricas diversas. Como tal, se conforma en un contexto específico, ligado a la restauración democrática de 1983 y se cristaliza como forma político-jurídica de las relaciones interétnicas en el período que se abre en dicho momento. O significante comunidade é analisado em torno de quatro dimensões centrais: como conceito de teoria social, como noção jurídica, como instituição política e como forma de identificação. Para isso, utiliza-se hoje o trabalho etnográfico realizado em Chubut e Río Negro, na Patagônia argentina. Argumenta-se que a comunidade é uma figura que se constituiu recentemente, no quadro de dispositivos de interpelação/identificação ligados a processos históricos que articulam diversas experiências sociais.
