However, the implementation of a legislative framework and a set of educational reforms have been a source of dispute with conservative and reactionary civil society organizations such as the National Union of Parents of Families. In this context, the objective of this study is to comprehensively reconstruct the anti-rights stance deployed by the UNPF in the context of the implementation of the human rights paradigm in the field of education in Mexico. To this end, a human rights approach and a method of political discourse analysis in education are employed. The central argument is that this organization has played a key role, with veto power, in defining the educational agenda, especially regarding the content of free textbooks, adopting a political, legal, and ethical discourse to maintain its conservative thinking. En México, los últimos gobiernos han avanzado en materia de reconocimiento formal de los derechos humanos y las diversidades —incluyendo la diversidad sexual— en los contenidos de los Libros de Texto Gratuito. Sin embargo, la integración de un marco legislativo y un conjunto de reformas educativas ha sido motivo de disputas con asociaciones civiles conservadoras y reaccionarias como la Unión Nacional de Padres de Familia. Con este contexto, el objetivo de este estudio es reconstruir integralmente la postura antiderechos desplegada por esta organización en el contexto de la implementación del paradigma de derechos humanos en el ámbito educativo en México. Para ello se emplea un enfoque de derechos humanos y un método de análisis político del discurso en educación. El argumento central es que dicha organización ha tenido un papel clave con poder de veto en la definición de la agenda educativa, especialmente en los contenidos de los libros de texto gratuitos, adoptando un discurso político, legal y ético para mantener su pensamiento conservador vigente.
