Then we analyze youth narratives collected in a socio-educational research carried out in two peripheral urban schools in the Province of Buenos Aires. The results of the study give an account of how friendship relationships between generational peers enable the processing of fear, loneliness and shame that crosses the student condition. Este artículo se propone interpretar los sentidos que se construyen sobre la amistad en la sociabilidad escolar desde la perspectiva de estudiantes secundarios. Desarrollamos las características de este vínculo afectivo teniendo en cuenta las condiciones de vida de la Modernidad signadas por el aislamiento emocional entre los individuos. Luego analizamos narrativas juveniles recabadas en una investigación socioeducativa llevada a cabo en dos escuelas urbanas periféricas de la Provincia de Buenos Aires. Los resultados del estudio dan cuenta de cómo las relaciones de amistad entre pares generacionales posibilitan la tramitación del miedo, la soledad y la vergüenza que atraviesa a la condición estudiantil.
