These explanations seem to overlap at certain points, leading to theoretical equivalences or apparent contradictions among them. In this work, we analyze the division between ratio cum portione inferiori et superiori, the concept of the practical intellect, Albert’s explanation of a passage from John of Damascus concerning the “psychological process of action”, and the treatment of synderesis, natural law, and conscience.
