Whenever possible, the connection between each system and the corresponding ethnic group (identified by its chieftain) is stated, and the nomenclature employed in the sources is mentioned and discussed.  El presente trabajo es un aporte para el conocimiento, a través del análisis de fuentes escritas, de la diversidad espacio-temporal de los sistemas de asentamiento y subsistencia aborígenes de la cuenca superior y media del río Limay, noroeste patagónico, durante los siglos XVII y XIX. Caracterizamos los sistemas económicos y establecemos su correspondencia con las distintas etnías que, según las fuentes, se hallaban presentes en la zona durante el período en estudio.
