The proposed analysis will be carried out based on a series of archival records -Indian censuses- and aims to establish an ethnic-demographic panorama of the encomiendas of the region, to provide their location and dispersion in said period and also reflect on some hypotheses for future research. El objetivo del trabajo es elaborar un cuadro de situación de la población indígena de los llanos tucumanos y el borde oriental de las sierras, incluyendo algunos valles de altura media -como Choromoros y Colalao- en el período que abarca desde fines del siglo XVII a principios del siglo XVIII y que denominaremos de “post-guerra”, debido a la finalización de la guerra diaguita-calchaquí que puso en jaque el dominio español en la región. El análisis propuesto se realizará en base a una serie de padrones de indios y apunta a establecer un panorama étnico-demográfico de las encomiendas de la región, brindar su ubicación y dispersión en dicho período y también a proporcionar algunas hipótesis para futuras investigaciones. O objetivo deste artigo é elaborar um relatório situacional sobre a população indígena das planícies de Tucumán e da borda oriental das serras, incluindo alguns vales de média altitude -como Choromoros e Colalao- durante o período compreendido entre o final do século XVII e o início do século XVIII, que chamaremos de "pós-guerra", devido ao fim da Guerra Diaguita-Calchaquí, que ameaçava o domínio espanhol na região. A análise proposta será baseada em uma série de censos indígenas e visa estabelecer um panorama etnodemográfico das encomiendas na região, descrever sua localização e dispersão durante esse período e também oferecer algumas hipóteses para pesquisas futuras.
