They are reading practices associated with public libraries, widespread in urban and rural environments and, in general, highly feminized. In recent years, book clubs have been studied from different disciplinary approaches, although academic research is still incipient. The general objective of this work is to identify the reading practices developed in reading clubs in rural Aragon. Specifically, the aim is to: identify and characterize the reading clubs active in the Aragonese municipalities, except for those located in the provincial capitals; to know and describe the dynamics of operation developed in them by women readers; as well as to describe and value especially the functions developed by women in the reading clubs. The methodology used was developed in different stages: a) Identification of the sources of information; b) Collection and treatment of the information and treatment of the information including the mapping of the reading clubs in rural areas and their detailed characterization; and c) Critical analysis of the data obtained.
