From that image taken from the natural, other artists made their own interpretations but, for the most part, they did not deviate from the original that constitutes a model of their image. Representations that were exhaustively extended for the celebrations of the First Centenary of the May Revolution, where it was reproduced in large oils, busts in bronze and even a monument composed by a sculptural group.  Presentamos una serie iconográfica sobre el deán Gregorio Funes que parte del primer grabado del artista portugués Simplicio Juan Rodríguez de Sá. Burilada por un grabador londinense, fue inserta en el libro de Funes que relata la historia de la región del actual territorio argentino y paraguayo. A partir de esa imagen tomada del natural, otros artistas hicieron sus propias interpretaciones, pero en su mayoría, no se apartaron del original que se constituye en modélico de su imagen.
