In this article we are interested in connecting certain aspects of that configuration with more abstract theoretical propositions. This work fulfills a double purpose: to give greater heuristic capacity to our initial empirical analyzes and, at the same time, to give grounds for a reflective thought of the notion of “social studies of music”. The aim is to develop the following issues: 1) the relationship between art and market, 2) the relationship between criticism and pragmatics, 3) the relationship between music and social movements and 4) the relationship between these problems and the diverse approaches to the musical phenomena. A partir de una investigación colectiva discernimos una configuración emergente en la que gestionar, mezclar y habitar son verbos constitutivos de la experiencia musical entre jóvenes que participan de espacios de producción y uso de música independiente en las ciudades de Buenos Aires y La Plata desde el año 2008 hasta la actualidad. En este artículo nos interesa conectar aspectos relevantes de esa configuración con proposiciones teóricas más abstractas sosteniendo un doble papel: ampliar la capacidad heurística a nuestros análisis empíricos iniciales y darle fundamentos a una consideración reflexiva de la noción de “campo de estudios sociales de la música”. Este esfuerzo se orienta a desarrollar los siguientes puntos: 1) la relación entre arte y mercado, 2) la relación entre crítica y pragmática, 3) la relación entre música y movimientos sociales y 4) la relación entre estas problematizaciones y las características del campo de análisis de los fenómenos musicales. A partir de uma pesquisa coletiva discernimos uma configuração emergente na qual os termos gerir, mesclar y habitar, são verbos constitutivos da experiência musical entre jovens envolvidos em espaços de produção e uso de música independente nas cidades de Buenos Aires e La Plata, desde 2008. Interessa-nos articular aspetos relevantes dessa configuração com proposições teóricas mais abstratas, um processo que pretende oferecer um duplo contributo: ampliar a capacidade heurística das nossas análises empíricas iniciais e fundamentar a análise reflexiva da noção de “campo de estudos sociais da música”. Este exercício sustenta-se no desenvolvimento dos seguintes pontos: 1) a relação entre arte e mercado, 2) a relação entre crítica e pragmática, 3) a relação entre a música e movimentos sociais e 4) a relação entre essas problematizações e as características do campo de análise dos fenómenos musicais.
