On the one hand, the concept of “Señor natural” is reworked and becomes legal, placing the king above any other order; on the other, the obligation regarding the “Señor natural” is established as the best of all “natural obligations”. All this conflates into a new concept of “Señor natural” (already removed from monarch’s personal quality or lineage) based on men and the land, which becomes a natural obligation in Partidas, a monarch’s reinforcement to exercise dominium in the totality of the kingdom. El artículo tiene por objetivo el análisis del doble movimiento que se realiza en Las Siete Partidas de Alfonso X en torno del constructo jurídico “Señor natural”, concepto clave en el programa político del rey Sabio. Por un lado, se reelabora y juridiza el concepto de “Señor natural”, colocando al rey por encima de cualquier otro estamento; por otro, se instituye la obligación con el “Señor natural” como la mejor de todas las “obligaciones naturales”. Todo conjuga en un nuevo concepto de “Señor natural” (alejado ya de la cualidad personal o del linaje del monarca) afincado en los hombres y en la tierra, que deviene en Partidas una obligación natural, reaseguro del monarca para ejercer dominium en la totalidad del reino.
