In this article we will see how relatives of fallen in the Malvinas War were adapted to these changes in a creative way, reformulating conventional models to understand them, through a framework of interpretation of losses where the Virgin of Luján, sacred source of legitimation of the dead and the bereaved, becomes the instrument through which occurs the communion of all Argentineans, both living and dead, and strengthening the national identity. A perda de um ente querido numa guerra, como nas perdas extraordinárias em geral, produz uma ruptura nas formas usuais de encarar a morte. Neste artigo vamos ver como parentes mortos na Guerra das Malvinas foram se adaptando a estas mudanças, reelaborando de forma criativa os modelos convencionais para compreendê-la, através de um quadro de interpretação de das perdas em que a Virgem de Luján, fonte sagrada de legitimação dos mortos e enlutados, torna-se o instrumento através do qual ocorre a comunhão de todos os argentinos, tanto vivos como mortos, e fortalecimento da identidade nacional. La pérdida de un ser querido en una guerra, al igual que en las pérdidas extraordinarias en general, produce una ruptura en las formas habituales de enfrentar la muerte. En este artículo veremos la forma en que integrantes de la organización Familiares de Caídos en Malvinas e Islas del Atlántico Sur se adaptaron a estos cambios, reelaborando creativamente los modelos convencionales para entenderla a través de un marco de interpretación de las pérdidas, en donde la Virgen de Luján, fuente sagrada de legitimación de los muertos y los deudos, deviene para los familiares en el instrumento a través del cual se produce la comunión de todos los argentinos, tanto vivos como muertos, y se refuerza la identidad nacional.
