In this respect, we consider essentially to examine of what way the crisis of 1890 gravitated in the construction of the statements concerning the origins of the industry and the manufacturers. Likewise, it is investigated bringsover of the strategies orchestrated by the associations with the intention of sensitizing to the public power and of taking part in an active way in the design of economic policies. El objetivo central de este artículo es analizar las modalidades que asumió el discurso en torno al empresariado de corporaciones industriales: la Unión Industrial Argentina y el Centro Azucarero Argentino, a los efectos de determinar los atributos positivos que ambas instituciones le asignaban al segmento empresarial. En este sentido, consideramos esencial examinar de qué manera la crisis de 1890 gravitó en la construcción de los relatos en torno a los orígenes de la industria y los industriales. Asimismo, se indaga acerca de las estrategias instrumentadas por las asociaciones con el propósito de sensibilizar a los poderes públicos y participar de manera activa en el diseño de políticas económicas.
