Sumario:Until the beginning of the '90s in Argentina, editors were only trained through an instructor,\nwith direct learning in the practical field of the discipline. This professional "training", outside\nthe academic sphere, was put into discussion by different forces. The relationship between\nthem caused a breaking point in the training of editors and as a result, a university career was\ncreated, which meant a milestone on the road to professionalizing the disciplinary field.\nThe objective of this work was to identify and analyze the forces and motivations that gave\nrise to the creation of the career and the conjugation and dynamics, characterized by the\nhybridization of traditions and training referents, which occurred within the academic unit that\nhoused her. This purpose led to describe the formation of the Argentine publishing field and\nthe movements that accompanied its professionalization process, of which the entry to the\nhigher education for the training of editors and the organization of practical knowledge\norganized in a specific way in a higher education.\nFor the methodology of this work, secondary and primary sources were used, specified in\ninterviews with actors in the publishing sector and participants in the process of creating the\ncareer and surveys to graduates
