The relationship between the presence of IR and risk factors associated with morbidity and mortality from CVD by a prospective cohort was studied. 315 individuals (247 females (47.6 ± 9.1 years) and 68 males (47.1 ± 9.2 years)) were studied for five years. A subgroup of 70 subjects for the study of gene and adiponectin receptors for molecular biology included. Prevalence of overweight (38.7%) and obesity (27.3%) associated with an atherogenic lipid profile was found. 24.1% of individuals had metabolic syndrome (MS) being col-HDL decreased the most common parameter; according HOMA IR was 18%. Obesity increased from 2007 to 2011 by 8.1%. Over 5 years, 58 individuals developed diabetes and 9 IR (type 2 diabetes mellitus). Of the variables analyzed, AO predicted IR and obesity predicted T2DM. 45.7% of individuals had decreased adiponectin. Only in women serum adiponectin explained the IR independently. In the analysis of gene sequences ADIPOQ a SNP found not described in the SNP database (dbSNP) at -11 348 G> T position of the promoter region at a frequency of 38% was associated with lower values of circulating adiponectin. The GG genotype of ADIPOR2 SNP rs1029629 showed significant association with IR and with decreased circulating adiponectin. |

Se estudió la relación entre la presencia de IR y factores de riesgo asociados, con la morbi-mortalidad por ECV mediante un estudio de cohorte prospectivo. Se estudiaron 315 individuos (247 mujeres (47,6 ± 9,1 años) y 68 varones (47,1 ± 9,2 años)) durante 5 años. Se encontró un predominio de sobrepeso (38,7%) y obesidad (27,3%) asociado a un perfil lipídico aterogénico. El 24,1% de los individuos tenía Síndrome Metabólico (SM) siendo col-HDL disminuido el parámetro más frecuente; según HOMA El 18% era IR. La obesidad aumento del 2007 al 2011 en un 8,1%.
