The paper is articulated in three parts in accordance to three different stages of medieval treatment of the politica as science within the division of the philosophia moralis in ethica, oeconomica and politica. First, it gives an overview on the Medieval notion of politicauntil the first half of the 13th century. Secondly, it analyses Albert’s conception of politica in the treatise Super Ethica. Thirdly, it shows Albert’s modifications of his own conception after the medieval reception of Aristotle’s Politics.
