In the first place, beginning with the so-called “legal turn” in political history, we analyze the conditions that made that relationship possible, particularly those related to the methodological turns in the field of social sciences (culturalist, linguistic, anthropological turn). Secondly, we show how Lorandi incorporated essential elements of the new legal history into her studies on historical anthropology, also highlighting some interpretative divergences. Finally we make a brief reflection on the possible outcomes of this interdisciplinary relationship to which Lorandi decidedly contributed in the local academic environment.  Tomando en consideración los últimos estudios de Ana María Lorandi -enfocados sobre aspectos políticos institucionales del orden colonial-, en este ensayo procuramos mostrar cómo, a través de dichos trabajos, Lorandi abrió camino a una nueva relación interdisciplinar entre la antropología histórica (tal como ella concebía esta disciplina) y la nueva historia del derecho. En primer lugar, partiendo del llamado giro jurídico de la historia política, analizamos las condiciones que hicieron posible aquella relación, particularmente las vinculadas con los giros metodológicos en el campo de las ciencias sociales (giro culturalista, lingüístico, antropológico). En segundo lugar, mostramos cómo Lorandi incorporó elementos esenciales de la nueva historia del derecho a sus estudios últimos de antropología histórica, destacando también algunas divergencias interpretativas.
