The objective of this study is to advance in the analysis of an organizational proposal, around the management of the irrigation system of an artificial course in the public domain, as is the case of the Aqueduct built in the Citrus Zone of Villa del Rosario, Province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. Information from documents prepared with the participation of users of irrigation water, consulting, interviews with members of CORUFA and the Hydraulics Directorate conducted during the execution of the project was systematized. Finally, a formal survey was conducted based on stratified sampling, and semi-structured interviews with representative producers of the consortium. The results show that it is necessary for producers to develop self-management mechanisms that give continuity to the proposal and ensure the future of community irrigation. La organización y gestión de las áreas bajo riego en la Argentina formó parte de una estrategia de intervención territorial que fue cambiando según los distintos períodos históricos y los modelos de acumulación asociados. El rol del Estado fue clave en muchos aspectos especialmente los relacionados con la asignación de los derechos de uso y la gestión económica financiera. El objetivo de este estudio es avanzar en el análisis de una propuesta organizativa, en torno a la gestión del sistema de riego de un curso artificial de dominio público, como es el caso del Acueducto construido en la Zona citrícola de Villa del Rosario, Provincia de Entre Ríos, Argentina. Se sistematizó la información proveniente de documentos elaborados con la participación de los usuarios del agua para riego, de consultorías, de entrevistas a integrantes del CORUFA y de la Dirección de Hidráulica realizadas durante la ejecución del proyecto. Finalmente, se realizó una encuesta formal en base a un muestreo estratificado, y entrevistas semiestructuradas a productores representativos del consorcio.
