I28-R145-2707_oai2025-02-11 Podestá, Florencia 2023-06-26 The purpose of the article is to analyze the international insertion of Argentine software and comÂputer services production based on the concept of labor complexity. We make a comparison with the United States and India, two relevant countries in terms of global software and computer services production. The countries in comparison are inserted in a differentiated way in the new international division of labor: the United States as a central country, India as a producer of low-value industrial manufactures based on cheap labor, and Argentina producing agricultural and industrial manufactures with low value added. We introduce this differentiation under the hypothesis that the way in which the region to which each of the countries in comparison belongs is inserted influences their trajectories as software suppliers. We seek to understand what type of software is produced in Argentina and under which valorization conditions.
