The objective is to expose the strengths and weaknesses that these SMEs present how the macroeconomic context influences them and to provide some tools for the management of public policies. Industrial SMEs are the productive nucleus of the party of General San Martín. Sixty seven percent of the gross value added (vab) of the municipality corresponds to the manufacturing industry. The most relevant sectors are mainly metalworking, textiles and plastic. In addition, an important part of this industrial fabric is made up of small and medium-sized companies, so San Martín was declared in 2015 as "national Capital of Small and medium industry".
