Specifically I explore how these are re-created in relationship to the discourses and practices of medical care. The memories of their social trajectories become an important resource to give meaning to the experience of suffering and challenge hegemonic representations stigmatizing. By reflecting on these experiences, the space of the indigenous experience is intertwined with a horizon of expectations where health claims seek to transcend hegemonic notions that reduce actions in this area as a matter of biomedical nature. Sobre la base de las experiencias de sufrimiento narradas por los wichí de las comunidades peri-urbanas de Tartagal (provincia de Salta, Argentina), el trabajo analiza los modos en que encuentran expresión sus construcciones de salud-enfermedad. Puntualmente, indago cómo estas son re-creadas en la interacción con los discursos y prácticas médico-asistenciales vigentes. Las memorias de sus trayectorias sociales devienen un recurso para dar significación a las experiencias de sufrimiento y cuestionar las interpretaciones hegemónicas que explican sus condiciones de vida. En este marco, el espacio de la experiencia indígena se va entrelazando con un horizonte de expectativas donde sus reivindicaciones de salud buscan trascender nociones hegemónicas que constriñen las acciones a un asunto de índole biomédico. Baseada nas experiências de sofrer narradas pelos índios Wichí das comunidades marginais da cidade de Tartagal (Estado de Salta, Argentina) o trabalho examina os modos em que achan expressão suas construções de saúde e doença. Examina-se como elas são recriadas em conexão com práticas médicas-asistenciais desenvolvidas hoje. As memórias de suas trajetórias sociais tornam-se um recurso para dar sentido á experiência de sofrimento e desafiar as representações hegemônicas estigmatizantes.
