The research focuses on a central question: why did women vote for the first time four years after the female suffrage law was enacted in September 1947, specifically in November 1951? This work aims to explore the challenges and obstacles that characterized this crucial period in the history of women's suffrage in Argentina. Este artículo analiza el proceso de elaboración del primer padrón electoral femenino y la documentación nacional de mujeres como resultado de la ley 13.010 en Argentina. Se examinan las normativas empleadas, las agencias estatales involucradas, los actores políticos, las ciudadanas, los partidos políticos y las elecciones celebradas durante esos años, donde las diferencias de género se manifiestan abiertamente. El estudio no descuida los contextos políticos y temporales que marcaron este proceso. La investigación se enfoca en una pregunta central: ¿por qué, si la ley de voto femenino fue sancionada en septiembre de 1947, las mujeres votaron por primera vez cuatro años después, en noviembre de 1951?
