Un género de breve productividad de la industria cinematográfica argentina fue el policial semidocumental realizado durante los años del primer gobierno peronista. En él, se narraban historias que ensalzaban el accionar de la policía apelando a casos verídicos, la filmación en locaciones reales y el uso de la voz over.
