The article identifies how processes associated with motherhood and family building, of individuation and psychologizing, intersect with each other in these actions. In doing so, it critically reappraises the contributions in a field of study which, in recent years, has attempted to decipher and understand the most salient features of a type of intervention that combines, not without tension, assistance and repression, support and control. Antropologia das intervenções estatais na infância, na adolescência e na família. En este artículo se reseñan algunas de las características centrales y más persistentes de las acciones que se desarrollan en el campo institucional de la administración de la infancia, la adolescencia y sus familias que, de un modo u otro, han sido examinadas por las diferentes investigaciones socioantropológicas desarrolladas en nuestra región. A partir de identificar cómo en esas acciones se intersectan los procesos de familiarización y maternalización, e individualización y psicologización, se recuperan críticamente los aportes de un campo de estudios que, en los últimos años, se ha orientado a descifrar y comprender los rasgos más salientes de un tipo de intervención que conjuga, de manera tensa, la asistencia y la represión, y la ayuda y el control. Este artigo mostra algumas das características centrais e mais persistentes das ações que ocorrem no campo institucional da gestão de crianças, adolescentes e as suas famílias que, de uma forma ou de outra, foram examinadas por diferentes pesquisas socioantropológicas desenvolvidas em nossa região.
