The field of studies and research in Statistical Education has been formed based on a look focused on the development of three competencies, literacy, reasoning and statistical thinking. Among them, we understand that literacy has a broader scope, in a way that encompasses the other competences, and in the Brazilian context it has gained greater emphasis in research. It was observed that several assumptions of Critical Education emerge from working with statistical literacy, so it has already been shown that critical competence is another important competence for the universe of Statistical Education. However, in some studies related to critical competence we have observed details that reveal characteristics specific to the individual’s behavior, highlighting the need to develop a behavioral competence. Along this line, this article aims to discuss an articulation between critical competence (as it is defined in studies on Critical Statistics Education, which in turn is derived from Critical Mathematical Education) and behavioral competence in the context of statistical literacy. This is a qualitative study and for analysis we used the Discursive Textual Analysis methodology and the data collected are clippings from a doctoral work. The results indicate that there is a relationship between these competencies, but there are also specific characteristics of behavioral competence that educators should be aware of. |

El campo de estudios e investigación en Educación Estadística se formó a partir de una mirada centrada en el desarrollo de tres competencias, alfabetización, razonamiento y pensamiento estadístico. Entre ellos, entendemos que la alfabetización tiene un alcance más amplio, de una manera que abarca las otras competencias, y en el contexto brasileño ha ganado mayor énfasis en la investigación. Se observó que varios supuestos de Educación Crítica surgen del trabajo con alfabetización estadística, por lo que ya se ha demostrado que la competencia crítica es otra competencia importante para el universo de la Educación Estadística. Sin embargo, en algunos estudios relacionados con la competencia crítica, hemos observado detalles que revelan características específicas del comportamiento del individuo, destacando la necesidad de desarrollar una competencia conductual. En este sentido, este artículo tiene como objetivo discutir una articulación entre la competencia crítica (tal como se define en los estudios sobre Educación estadística crítica, que a su vez se deriva de la Educación matemática crítica) y la conductual en el contexto de la alfabetización estadística. Es un estudio cualitativo y para el análisis utilizamos la metodología de análisis textual discursivo y los datos recopilados son recortes de un trabajo de doctorado. Los resultados indican que existe una relación entre estas competencias, pero también hay características específicas de la competencia conductual que los educadores deben tener en cuenta. O campo de estudos e pesquisas da Educação Estatística tem se formado com base em um olhar voltado para o desenvolvimento de três competências, a literacia, o raciocínio e o pensamento estatístico. Entre elas, entendemos que a literacia tem uma abrangência mais ampla, de forma que engloba as demais competências, e no contexto brasileiro ela tem ganhado maior ênfase nas pesquisas. Observou-se que diversos pressupostos da Educação Crítica emergem do trabalho com a literacia estatística, por isso já foi mostrado que a competência crítica é outra competência importante para o universo da Educação Estatística. Contudo, em alguns estudos relacionados à competência crítica temos observado detalhes que revelam características próprias do comportamento do indivíduo, evidenciando a necessidade de desenvolvimento de uma competência comportamental. Nessa linha, este artigo tem como objetivo discutir uma articulação entre a competência crítica (como definida nos estudos sobre a Educação Estatística Crítica, que por sua vez é derivada da Educação Matemática Crítica) e a comportamental no contexto da literacia estatística. Trata-se de um estudo de natureza qualitativa e para análise utilizamos a metodologia de Análise Textual Discursiva e os dados coletados são recortes de um trabalho de doutorado.
