The research set out to promote participatory production that allows the reality of the actors in the territory to be objectified, and for this reason, their development resulted from the situation and variations in work with social organizations in the Barrio Rafael Obligado, San Miguel. The collective map production activities had as a trigger the non-motorized movements of people within the urban space of the neighborhood. It is recognized that the tool has: a dimension as a map, as a social fact, as an interview and observation, as a producer of collective knowledge and as an educational tool. This analysis provides a framework that encourages and encourages other participatory activities. En el marco de un estudio exploratorio con el encuadre epistemológico de la investigación acción participación y con enfoque metodológico cualitativo interpretativo se identificaron diversas dimensiones que refieren a aspectos o perspectivas desde las cuales se puede abordar y analizar la herramienta del Mapeo Colectivo. La investigación se propuso promover la producción participativa que permite objetivar la realidad de los actores del territorio, y por esto, su desarrollo devino de la coyuntura y las variaciones del trabajo con organizaciones sociales del Barrio Rafael Obligado, San Miguel. Las actividades de producción colectiva de mapas tuvieron como disparador a los desplazamientos no motorizados de las personas dentro del espacio urbano del barrio. Se reconoce que la herramienta posee: una dimensión como mapa, como hecho social, como entrevista y observación, como productora de conocimiento colectivo y como herramienta educativa. Este análisis aporta un marco que favorece y alienta otras actividades participativas.
