Especially, they define the need for a new «cultural» approach in contemporary criminology for the Late Modernity, which forces us to rethink both its object and its research method. This proposal, that defines itself as novel, seek to trace its genealogy in approaches such as Matza’s «naturalism», Becker’s radical phenomenology or the critical perspective of the National Deviancy Conference, among others. In this way, the autors raise the need to dispute the criminological field with those «criminologies» that they call «positivists», «neoliberals» or «academics». Finally, they outline some examples of this «new/old» approach to criminology. En el presente artículo, los autores abordan algunas de las características principales de la criminología cultural, una perspectiva que ha tenido un notable desarrollo en los últimos años. En particular, definen la necesidad un nuevo enfoque «cultural» en la criminología contemporánea, en el marco de la Modernidad Tardía, que nos obliga a replantearnos tanto su objeto como su método de investigación. Esta propuesta, que se define como novedosa, busca trazar su genealogía en enfoques como el «naturalismo» de Matza, la fenomenología radical de Becker o la perspectiva crítica de la National Deviancy Conference, entre otros. De esta forma, los autores plantean la necesidad de disputar el campo criminológico con aquellas «criminologías» quedenominan «positivistas», «neoliberales» o «académicas». Por último, esbozan algunos ejemplos de este «nuevo/viejo» enfoque para la criminología.
