Este artículo tiene como objetivo principal describir y explicar la orientación, iniciativas, condiciones y efectos de las políticas policiales desarrollada por el gobierno de Evo Morales en Bolivia, en el periodo 2006-2014. En particular se pretende analizar los cambios y continuidades ocurridos en esta materia, tomando en cuenta la orientación política de izquierda del gobierno y la implementación de un proceso de cambio en el país, a través de la construcción de un Estado Plurinacional.
