Sumario:This research article addresses some of the challenges facing the legal field regarding the use of technological resources. Specifically, the Internet constitutes a new dimension of the "being" and "being of the person." Cyberspace is a dimension in which human beings have found a networked digital ecosystem in which they can expand the scope for the exercise of human freedoms. However, it also represents a space in which these freedoms can be limited, or even suppressed. The use of this resource has also modified the social contract in its classic terms, as political categories such as the nation-state have weakened, giving way to a process of reconfiguration marked by the globalization of communications and commerce. Based on this, this reflection is presented, aimed at analyzing a social phenomenon that has resulted in the need to consider the reconfiguration of the political and legal paradigms that underpin modern democracies.
