Using a database of protest events covering the cycles of 1958, 1968, 1983 and 1996, it seeks to understand the logics of the territorial deployment of student protest according to some key variables such as actors or demands. In this way, it is possible to observe both constants and innovations, phenomena related to each historical moment, constructions of symbolism and collective memory over the long term. In addition to the quantitative approach, we propose a detailed study of the case of the University Esplanade, a central space of the student protest, but with changing functions and meanings.
