In this article, we propose, in the first instance, to explore the definition of this resource and its theoretical scope as a particular type of relationship between mediants. Secondly, we will analyze popular music songs by authors prior to or contemporary with L.A. Spinetta and compare their different uses and aesthetic results. Finally, we will develop a classification of the various applications and possibilities of this harmonic tool. We believe that this research can contribute to the understanding of Anglo and Latin American music and, at the same time, contribute to a theory of harmony in popular music. En artículos precedentes hemos analizado los recursos armónicos en la obra de L. A. Spinetta (Recursos Spinetteanos, 2019) e identificamos al Intercambio Modal del Relativo como una herramienta singular de su estética. En este artículo nos proponemos, en primera instancia, explorar la definición de este recurso y sus alcances teóricos como tipo particular de relación de mediantes. En segundo lugar, analizaremos canciones de música popular de autores anteriores o contemporáneos a L. A. Spinetta y compararemos sus distintos usos y resultados estéticos. Finalmente propondremos una clasificación sobre las distintas aplicaciones y posibilidades de esta herramienta armónica. Creemos que esta investigación puede aportar a la comprensión de la música anglo y latinoamericana y al mismo tiempo, contribuir a una teoría de la armonía en la música popular.
